Surf Tournament: Quiksilver Clasico Mazatlan

The fist annual Quiksilver Clasico, an ASP 4-Star event(US$ 85,000 prize purse) held in he close-to-home yet undiscovered land of left point breaks; Mazatlan, Mexico.

Ths first event of this siize in Mexico, the Quiksilver Clasico will take place al Playa Camarón, a reeling left point(reef) break in the heart of Mazatlan´s Beach and hotel Golden Zone.

The Clasico will also play host to a massive music festival on he beach  featurinf major American bands as well as Mexico´s tops acts, fashion show, and art exhibits.

To top it off, Peter Mel, Strider Wasilewski, Magnum Martinez, and Chad Welss will commentate a world class live webcast for anyone that wasn´t able to make it to the party.

Mazatlán, a 400 year-old seaport with a vibrant history and population of 500,000 is considered to be one of Mexico´s premier tourist destinations with great accommodatios, eclectic restaurants, and pumping nighlife to suit every taste.

A two-hour flight from LAX brings you directly to Mazatlan International Airpot, where a 20 minute drive drops you at the event site where you will find the wave, festival area, and hotels, all within a stone´s thron of one another.

This event is powered by Boardwalk Productions, through Abelardo Juarez. It has the support of Ministry of Tourism and the Municipal Government to provide a quality event with booths of sponsors, gastronomic shows, music and good atmosphere, it is expected the participation of 700 surfers from home and abroad.
